India’s Biggest Writing Contest 2025 (Phase 2) is a theme-based contest. We are looking for adaptation-ready stories that bring Sheshnaag into the modern world. The best 15+ stories will have the chance to be developed into graphic novels, short films, web series, or feature films.

What to Submit?

We are looking for 1,000-1,500 word stories in English or Hindi that prominently feature Sheshnaag as a central figure—whether as the protagonist, antagonist, or a key driving force of the narrative.

Sheshnaag must play a significant role, shaping the story’s events in a meaningful way. Submissions that do not include Sheshnaag as an integral part of the plot will be disqualified.

This contest challenges writers to push creative boundaries, reimagining a mythological legend in a modern 21st-century setting while exploring themes of duty, power, balance, wisdom, and rebirth.

Who is Sheshnaag?

Sheshnaag is a powerful serpent king in Hindu mythology, often shown as a giant snake with multiple hoods. He is known for his wisdom and strength, serving as the eternal companion of Lord Vishnu. Sheshnaag symbolizes cosmic balance and stability, upholding duty, power, and infinite wisdom.

Sheshnaag is believed to bear the weight of the Earth on his hoods, reinforcing his role as a protector and sustainer of life. This contest invites you to reimagine his presence in today’s world.
